How to Make the Easter Story Come Alive for Your Kids

Hi Mom,

Easter is a very special time of the year for all Christians. Without Jesus’ death and resurrection, we wouldn’t have the undeniable promise of eternal life. It’s likely your child has heard this account before. but sometimes telling a familiar story in a new way brings fresh understanding.

Most kids are visual learners and love to color. Share the Easter story with these special coloring book pages and watch your child grow in their comprehension of Jesus’ incredible love for them. As you show these pages, you can tell about Jesus in your own words or look it up in the Bible.

Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.” Matthew 21:5 (ESV)

The multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!” Matthew 21:9 (NKJV)

He took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” Matthew 26:27-28

Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done. Luke 22:42

There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. John 19:18 (ESV)

When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30

Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). John 20:16
